Ammonium nitrosulphate (ASN) is a nitrogen fertilizer suitable for top dressing of all types of crops, even for those with high nutritional requirements. In addition to its content in nitric and ammoniacal nitrogen, the ASN offers a solution to the sulphur deficiencies caused by the loss of sulphates in the soil, in years of high rainfall or by intense irrigation that can cause the loss of nutrients with greater mobility.

The exclusive production process designed by Fertiberia gives the nitro sulphate a structure in the form of double salt, composed of nitrogen and sulphur of very high quality and solubility, which guarantees the joint application of these elements for a longer time. Numerous tests show that this joint and continuous application of nitrogen and sulphur is beneficial for the assimilation of both nutrients, achieving significant increases in the production and quality of the crops.

The sulphur it contains has beneficial effects for both the plant and the soil:

1. In the soil:

  • It acidifies the soil and allows nitrification to be carried out gradually, achieving better use of the nitrogen and a reduction in losses to the environment.
  • It reduces the pH, making it suitable for chalky and saline soils.
  • It mobilises phosphorus and potassium: it solubilises the microelements in the soil.
  • It has a fungicidal action.

2. In the plant:

  • In cereals, it favours tillering and contributes to the formation of spikes.
  • In the case of rapeseed, it produces high quality seeds and promotes fruiting;
  • It is part of essential amino acids and is therefore essential in the formation of proteins, vitamins and enzymes.

In addition, the production process designed by Fertiberia, unique in the world, gives the nitro sulphate exceptional physical properties and chemical quality.

  • The high hardness permits a very homogeneous distribution, makes it easy to handle and allows the product to be perfectly preserved.

  • The very high solubility, 980 gr/l at 20 ºC, makes it an ideal fertilizer for use in extensive irrigation systems.

Technical specifications

  • Total nitrogen %N 26.0
  • Ammoniacal nitrogen %N 19.5
  • Nitric nitrogen %N 6.5
  • Sulphur %SO3 37.0
  • Solubility Very high 980 gr/l a 20ºC
  • pH in aqueous solution 10% >3.5

Form of application

  • Indicated for application in a single top dressing as:
    • The nitric nitrogen it supplies, 25%, facilitates the amount needed for tillering in cereals.
    • Nitrogen in ammonia form, 75%, is progressively nitrified until the end of the crop cycle.
  • It is applied on the surface of the ground, on soil, and always evenly distributed.
  • It does not need to be deep down as it is a very soluble fertilizer and moderate rainfall or irrigation is sufficient to place the nutrients within reach of the roots.
  • Apply to chalky, sodic soils with organic matter that has not decomposed.
