INNVIRONMENT Project

State:

ended

The project focuses on researching and developing nitrogen cycle modulators in the soil that are effective and environmentally friendly.

Improvements to the nitrogen cycle

Nitrogen is the most frequently limiting macronutrient for agricultural production.. The need to apply nitrogen fertiliser every year in agricultural systems to ensure productivity, together with the ease with which nitrogen can be transformed into mobile forms that can lead to losses of nitrogen to the environment, has led to an interest in the search for innovative solutions to minimise this risk.

Objective

The project focuses on researching and developing nitrogen cycle modulators in the soil that are effective and environmentally friendly.

  • Reducing greenhouse gas emissions in agriculture and lessening the effects of nutrients leaching into bodies of water are a priority for both our company and the European Commission itself.

The INNVIRONMENT project is carried out with the collaboration of CDTI.
