WORKING TO ADD VALE
ESG criteria to ensure sustainable, innovative, committed and responsible investments
The application of ESG or Environmental, Social and Governance criteria guides each of our company’s decisions and serves as a framework for all our performance and leads us to promote projects specifically formulated to firmly build the best version of Fertiberia for a better world.
Social
The well-being of people (our staff, the external companies that provide services to us, the communities in which we operate and society in general) is one of our priorities. Criteria such as occupational health and safety, diversity, equality and inclusion are fully integrated into every action we take.
Governance
We are governed by governance and management policies and procedures in accordance with the highest international standards which are designed to ensure that the behaviour of everyone in this company – regardless of rank or position – is aligned with our principles and values and is fully compliant with the law.
INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Our ambition, to achieve excellence
Our goal to achieve the best and highest levels of quality in our processes is based on three basic pillars:
Quality, safety and
the environment
These are core values that are part of our corporate culture. Created through the development of a safe work environment, reduced environmental impact and customer satisfaction, our unique culture attracts and retains talent, promotes a sense of belonging and creates an environment that drives performance.
Environmental Management Certification
Safety Certification
Energy Quality Certification
Zero Damage and
Zero Impact
Through our activity, we aspire to protect all the people involved in our business (employees, shareholders, customers, partners, suppliers, communities in which we operate, etc.), thus contributing to the sustainable development of agriculture.
Continuous
improvement
We collaborate and partner with different stakeholders to promote a culture of learning, knowledge sharing, transparency, honesty, compliance, efficiency evaluation, the value of human life and the protection of the environment. All of this results in a continuous improvement of our management system and processes.
PRODUCT STEWARDSHIP
Responsible and ethical management of our products
At Fertiberia, we are responsible for supervising Product Stewardship, which means ensuring that all our solutions, including raw materials and intermediate products, are manufactured, packaged, handled, stored, distributed and applied in accordance with the principles of health, safety and security, quality and respect for the environment.
We have taken this commitment a step further by joining the Infinite Fertilizers programme developed by the European fertiliser manufacturers' association Fertilizers Europe, which requires all subscribing companies to implement it with the best guidelines and includes a new concept called Nutrient Stewardship. It is one of the most advanced projects within the Product Stewardship programmes established by the International Fertilizer Association.
What is Infinite Fertilizers?
This programme guides plant nutrition manufacturers through a set of standards, responsible action and the results of ongoing research by major European producers. Their objectives are:
- To oversee responsible management of safety, health, quality and environmental friendliness throughout the life cycle of products.
- To promote best practices in nutrient management by informing farmers about the correct selection and use of products, as well as the adoption of the best application technologies.
Principles
The standards that companies subscribing to the Infinite Fertilizers programme principles must develop and adhere to are:
- Management Commitment: in accordance with the Product Stewardship programme, each member commits to develop policies that reflect the obligation to the project, take responsibility for the elements of the project, improve action plans, analyse compliance, make corrections where necessary, encourage communication and participation of those involved, monitor documentation, manage complaints, establish a decision-making system and conduct an internal audit.
- Plan-Do-Check-Act continuous improvement cycle: this is the application of the Plan-Do-Check-Act management principles to perform a risk assessment throughout the product life cycle and create a management system to reduce and control risks to people, property and the environment.
- Product life cycle: encompasses the compositional aspects (raw materials, intermediates, additives, coatings and by-products), product development, packaging and loading, marketing and sales, application and use, recycling and/or disposal of surplus or waste materials.
Certificates

Special attention to our products at all stages
Aiming to minimise any negative effects of our products on health, safety, and the environment
We give our products exceptional care during all stages of their life cycle, from their conception to their final application.
To achieve this responsible management, we are committed to providing our employees with the necessary training and means to establish appropriate procedures, as well as disseminating best practices for the use of our products to our customers.
In addition to compliance with all applicable legal requirements, we are responsible for:
Developing our products while minimising adverse effects throughout their life cycle.
Selecting suppliers of raw materials and services that take into account environmental incidents and the safety of the operations they carry out.
Concern for continuous improvement in occupational health and safety, as well as the reduction of emissions and waste.
Storing, transporting and distributing products in safe conditions, minimising adverse effects on the environment.
Applying products such as fertilisers and agricultural correctors in the right and appropriate quantity and form, according to the specific characteristics of the crop and the receiving environments.
Reusing unused products and packaging and, if not possible, dispose of them safely.
RESPONSIBLE CARE
Continuous improvement thanks to the Integrated Management System
Continuous improvement is governed by the Integrated Management System (IMS), designed and developed by Fertiberia, which requires constant progress through the body of documentation that makes up the system.
In this way, the entire quality process is present throughout the entire production process, from the supply of raw materials to the delivery of the product. As a complement to the above integrated QHSE (quality, health and safety and environment) management policy, our group has joined the Commitment to Progress (Responsible Care)programme, which complements and reaffirms our QHSE management policies.
