Digital transformation of agriculture
- Grupo Fertiberia takes another step forward in its aim to promote more efficient, sustainable and profitable agriculture by partnering with EOSOL, a leading company in Navarre that specialises in engineering and digitalisation services in industrial sectors. The aim of this partnership is to jointly develop an advanced digital tool for smart fertilisation.
Madrid/Navarre, 18 March 2024 – For more than 50 years, Fertiberia has been analysing soil samples throughout the Iberian Peninsula to optimise fertilisation for the thousands of farmers who use its products. These analyses are part of an internal database containing more than two million items of its own data that enables the company to both develop specific products for certain crops and optimise fertiliser recommendations for farmers. This, in turn, results in higher crop yields with a more efficient use of nutrients.
“Thanks to our partnership with EOSOL, we will be able to incorporate all of this accumulated knowledge into a digital tool that will help farmers not only manage the fertiliser needs of their crops more efficiently, but also comply with the reporting obligations derived from the new Exploitation Notebook in a simple, streamlined manner”, states Javier Goñi, CEO of Fertiberia Group. He further emphasises that “we ultimately seek to help farmers by simplifying both the agronomic management of their crops and the administrative element thanks to AI”.
The combination of Fertiberia’s data and rules of interpretation with the artificial intelligence developed by EOSOL in its application, marketed under the name of Daila, will result in a more advanced version of this tool, which aims to become the reference among precision agriculture applications.
