Madrid, 10 October 2025 – Grupo Fertiberia has recognized outstanding contributions to occupational health and safety with the third edition of its SaFer Awards. This initiative honors the efforts of the company’s workforce, its manufacturing sites, and the service companies that operate regularly at its facilities — all of which prioritize health, safety, and environmental responsibility in building a safer, more sustainable company.
The awards were presented by the Group’s CEO, Juan Pablo Llobet; Chief Operating Officer, David Herrero; Corporate General Manager and CFO, Marc Entrecanales; Director of QHSE and Sustainability, Andrea Sánchez; and General Safety Coordinator, Alberto Sáez.
As in previous editions, the awards recognize achievements in four distinct categories:
- In the “Safety Model” category, which highlights exemplary attitudes and behaviors that enhance both individual and collective safety, the winner was Pascual López Arias, an employee at the Puertollano plant.
- In the “Risk Reducer” category, the award went to Cristóbal Roger Bueno, from Agralia, for proposing safety improvements at one of the facilities—an initiative that was later successfully implemented at another site of the same subsidiary.
- In the “Safety and Environment” category, the Liquid Fertilizers plant in Alverca (Portugal) was recognized for a project with significant positive environmental impact.
- Lastly, the “Star Company” award, dedicated to external companies that regularly collaborate with Grupo Fertiberia, was given to Duro Felguera, in Avilés, for its exemplary commitment and the implementation of an accident reduction plan that resulted in zero lost-time incidents.
During the closing ceremony, CEO Juan Pablo Llobet emphasized the company’s progress in safety matters: “For Grupo Fertiberia, nothing is more important than safety. Our ambition is clear: zero harm. Every step we take in this direction depends on the daily commitment of everyone in the company. I congratulate the award recipients for setting an example on this journey.”
The SaFer program, launched five years ago, is built around a long-term action plan aimed at fostering a corporate culture of zero losses, based on accountability and prevention to avoid accidents, mitigate risks, and reinforce process safety.
