Low carbon ammonia and low carbon fertiliser plant in Palos de la Frontera
Project in collaboration with CEPSA. This is an alliance for the decarbonisation of our production processes through the joint development of a large-scale renewable green hydrogen plant in Huelva, with a capacity of 400 MW, based on green electricity and other nenewable gases.
Fertiberia and Cepsa are the main producers and consumers of hydrogen in Spain, together accounting for more than a third of national consumption. Both companies are launching the Andalusian Green Hydrogen Valley in Huelva to jointly optimise our decarbonisation plans, including the production of green hydrogen, as well as ammonia, AdBlue® and sustainable fertilisers.
To this end, we will develop a pioneering hydrogen ring to ensure the supply of the new renewable energy vector to the entire industrial base of the area and favouring synergies between our plants. In addition, the project also contemplates the possible production of renewable fuels such as low carbon ammonia.
The project has gained the IPCEI seal.
