A total of 28 students from the 3rd and 4th year of the Degree in Agro-environmental Engineering and the Master's Degree in Integrated Water Cycle of the Technical School of Agricultural, Food and Biosystems Engineering (ETSIAAB) visited Grupo Fertiberia's facilities.
- The aim of this trip was to contribute to the training of these students in technical, agricultural and environmental aspects.
Once again, students from different courses of study at the School of Agricultural, Food and Biosystems Engineering had the opportunity to visit one of Grupo Fertiberia's facilities, on this occasion the Puertollano factory.
During the visit, the production process of some of the plant nutrition solutions produced there, such as ammonium nitrate or urea, from the synthesis of ammonia, was explained to them.
The students also had the chance to visit the new green hydrogen facilities that supply the Puertollano factory, where part of its natural gas consumption is already being replaced with this renewable hydrogen to produce green ammonia and Impact Zero sustainable fertilisers. This project, promoted in collaboration with Iberdrola, is part of Grupo Fertiberia's Net Zero strategy to become the first carbon neutral company in its sector by 2035.
With this visit, the students understood the importance of fertilisers and their correct application in crop nutrition and, as a consequence, in agricultural production.
