Actualidad Económica has highlighted NSAFE® technology as one of the most innovative projects of 2024 in the plant nutrition sector

Madrid, 20 May 2024 – NSAFE®, Grupo Fertiberia’s first microbiological development on the market with a nitrification inhibitory effect, has been awarded in the category of Sustainability and projects linked to the SDGs of the 100 Best Ideas 2024 awards. This recognition, organised by Actualidad Económica, seeks to reward companies and institutions that stand out for their innovation when it comes to generating wealth and knowledge at a national level.
This global ground-breaking technology, the result of more than 6 years of research, protects nitrogen and prolongs its activity, remaining available in the soil for a longer amount of time and allowing plants to absorb it more slowly. And it does so with a very distinctive feature: respecting microbial life and without having any impact on the microorganisms present in the soil. After being launched in January 2024 on the Spanish market, where it has already been registered by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food after a thorough certification process, the company is already handling the procedures required for launching it internationally.
At an event held at The Beatriz Madrid, chaired by the Minister of Public Finance and Administration of the Community of Madrid, Rocío Albert López-Ibor, Actualidad Económica brought together senior Spanish business leaders and entrepreneurs to recognise high-value projects, ideas and initiatives.
“Being part of the 100 Best Ideas of the year with one of our most revolutionary innovations in biotechnology makes us proud and inspires us to continue our commitment to the most efficient and fully respectful solutions with biodiversity and the environment,” says the CEO of Grupo Fertiberia, Javier Goñi.
On the other hand, the Commercial Director of Grupo Fertiberia, Alfredo Segura, has highlighted the project as a great step forward in agricultural profitability: “In our company we use all the vectors of transformation (renewables, biotechnology and digitalisation) to maximise crop profitability while guaranteeing full environmental sustainability. NSAFE® is a clear example of this: not only does it minimise environmental impact, but it also preserves soil qualities and boosts agricultural yields, offering top-notch products with high economic returns for agricultural producers.”
