A project to achieve Zero Waste at the Química del Estroncio plant.
At Fertiberia, we are aware of the importance of reducing waste. For this reason, many of our production units have control and monitoring procedures, as well as production indicators that allow us to know in real time the specific consumption of raw materials.
One of the most important Zero Waste projects is Coralis, developed at the plant of our subsidiary Química del Estroncio in Escombreras Park (Cartagena). Its objective is to refit the current production processes (nitrate, carbonate and sulphate salts) and replace imported raw materials with those from the other companies that are part of the industrial complex.
We are pursuing the following objectives with this initiative:
- To reduce waste across the complex and improve how shared waste infrastructures are managed.
- To reduce CO2 emissions at the Química del Estroncio plant.
- To lower raw material imports and water consumption at the local level and at the group level.
- To design and commission the CSP Plant to maximise production efficiency and decarbonise energy in the industrial area.
