Madrid, 10 February 2025. Fertiberia, one of the European leaders in the sector of crop nutrition and sustainable solutions for the industry, continues to expand in France with a new AdBlue® production and logistics centre. The company has opened a plant located 50 kilometres from Paris and with a manufacturing capacity of 50,000 tonnes per year. AdBlue® is an ammonia solution used in diesel vehicles to reduce nitrous oxide emissions, thereby preserving air quality and contributing to the global commitment to fight against climate change. This new facility is strategically located in a key logistics environment that is connected to Europe’s main road transport routes.
“Our plants produce DNOx urea, the raw material for AdBlue®, with top quality and the highest environmental standards. We are now coming full circle by bringing final production closer to major consumption centres, thus ensuring maximum efficiency when supplying an essential product for reducing polluting emissions”, states Javier Goñi, CEO of Grupo Fertiberia.
Fertiberia has been present in the French market for more than a decade, marketing more than 200,000 tonnes of high added value fertilisers thanks to its plant in Brittany. The new AdBlue® plant enables the company to extend its footprint on this market with a strategic product. Furthermore, these facilities will house the group’s new corporate headquarters in France. “France is one of the driving forces behind European agriculture and industry and it is a leading nation in the transition towards a more sustainable economy, making it a fundamental cornerstone of our expansion plans”, emphasises Goñi.
Expansion in France is an element of the group’s international strategy. Fertiberia recently acquired the logistics operator Van de Reijt in the Netherlands to strengthen its presence in central Europe and it opened new subsidiaries in Greece and Sweden, thus consolidating its position as a benchmark in sustainable solutions for the industry and agriculture. “We will continue to take very ambitious steps as we expand internationally, given the growing demand for our high value added solutions”, concludes Goñi.
