Calcium Nitrate
Calcium nitrate is a colourless salt that absorbs humidity from the air and is commonly found in tetrahydrate form. This product is synthesised in the Alverca factory (Portugal) and is marketed both in 25 kg bags and in 1,000 kg big bags. It is a compound that lowers the melting point of salts, has many uses such as in the latex industry, in the manufacture of frits, in the ceramics sector, in the concrete industry, and is also used in water treatment.
Applications:
- Bases and additives for concrete and mortars. Setting accelerator.
- Corrosion inhibitor.
- Thermal storage salt.
- Adjuvant in the latex industry.
- Additive for the ceramics industry.
- Raw material for the manufacture of frits.
- Odour treatment in wastewater.
