Madrid, 28/09/2023 –Fertiberia announces the new edition of its traditional children’s painting competition, the 27th Children’s Rural Painting Competition. With more than half a million school participants since it was first held in 1996, the aim of the competition is to raise awareness about the values of the agricultural environment through the artistic expression of children.

This year marks the 27th edition of a competition that recognises the creativity and commitment of students living in rural areas.

  • Specifically, students from grades 1 to 4 in primary school located in rural communities with fewer than 25,000 inhabitants are eligible to participate.
  • Students will have until 30 November to submit their creations.

The authors of the three most outstanding proposals will receive, respectively, a study grant for 6,000, 2,000 and 1,000 Euros. In addition, the schools in which they study will receive multimedia equipment valued at 1,000 Euros and a grant of 1,000 Euros to support the A.M.P.A. of the schools of the top 3 winners.

Participants must find their inspiration in the agricultural field, exploring subjects ranging from life in the countryside to the preservation of the environment, the development of plants, crops and their usefulness, among other aspects for the realisation of their creations. In this competition, creative freedom is encouraged in terms of the choice of technique and style, but the use of different techniques such as wax, gouache or watercolours is recommended. The format must be horizontal and with dimensions of Din A4 (21 x 29.7 cm) or Din A3 (29.7 x 34 cm).

Schoolchildren interested in taking part in the competition can send in their paintings until 30 November and can consult the competition rules here.
