Madrid, March 10, 2026. Fertiberia’s annual Children’s Rural Painting Competition, now in its 29th edition, once again attracted the participation of thousands of students from 1st to 4th grade of primary school from rural towns with fewer than 25,000 inhabitants.

Izan Roldán López, from Francisco García Amor School in Nueva Carteya, Córdoba, won first prize with an illustration depicting olive harvesting. Second prize went to Irene del Río Santos, from CEIP Fray Bernardino de Sahagún in León, for her representation of agricultural crops, while Lluk Vidal Mas, from CRA La Serra in Els Ibarsos, Castellón, received third prize for her drawing about beekeeping.

Fertiberia awarded a total of €9,000 to recognize these initiatives, through three study grants worth €6,000, €2,000, and €1,000, respectively. In addition, each of the winning schools received a complete multimedia equipment package valued at €1,000, along with an additional €1,000 contribution to the Parents’ Association (AMPA) of each school.

In this 29th edition, thousands of children from across Spain paid tribute to life in the countryside, highlighting the richness of rural environments and the environmental commitment linked to agricultural activity.

Reaching the 29th edition of this competition reinforces Fertiberia’s long-standing commitment to rural communities. Through this initiative, the company not only aims to reward the creativity of young students through grants and equipment for their schools, but also to highlight the value of the agricultural environment and promote education in rural areas, which are essential pillars for the growth and well-being of society.
